Rate Limits Explained

Rate limits protect deliverability by preventing sudden spikes that could trigger spam filters. Limits are applied at the account level and shared across all your SMTP credentials and API keys.

Limit Type Scope What Happens When Exceeded
Per-minute Account-wide 429 error; retry after 60 seconds
Per-hour Account-wide 429 error; retry after the hour resets
Per-day Account-wide 429 error; retry after midnight UTC
Per-month Account-wide 429 error; upgrade plan or wait for next month
Cross-node sync: Rate limits are synchronized across all CyberMail nodes via UDP, so limits are enforced consistently regardless of which server handles your request.

Bounce Rate Auto-Suspension

To protect shared infrastructure reputation, accounts with excessive bounces are automatically suspended:

  • Bounce rate threshold: 10% of sent emails in a 24-hour window
  • Minimum sent: At least 50 emails must be sent before the threshold applies
  • Consecutive bounces: 20 consecutive bounces triggers immediate suspension

If suspended, clean your mailing list and contact [email protected] to request reactivation.

Upgrading & Downgrading

  1. Go to https://platform.cyberpersons.com/email/billing/
  2. Click Change Plan
  3. Select your new plan — upgrades take effect immediately, downgrades at the end of the billing period
  4. Billing is handled securely via Stripe
